As you know, applications for our 3 spots in the 2021 Virtual London Marathon closed on the 19th of March, 2021.
We were overwhelmed by the large number of applicants wishing to run for the Royal Signals Charity.
We are so pleased to be able to introduce you to our 3 2021 Virtual London Marathon Runners…
- Cpl Milan Chemjong, currently part of 11 Sig Regt. Milian is a keen sportsman enjoying cricket, football and running. With his wife Anita, currently working on the frontline of the COVID-19 response as a nurse at Poole Hospital, Milan has had much more time to focus on his running and hopes to complete the Marathon in under 3 hours and 30 minutes. Milan said, “I want to raise funds for the Royal Signals Charity because of the vital support it provides to our Corps Family, particularly during the pandemic, when the need for more support is evident.”
- Sgt Paul Chamberlain, currently at 37 Sig Regt. Paul served for 24 years in the regular Army and reached the rank of SSgt having served across the UK, Cyprus and Germany. He also completed tours of Iraq, Bosnia and Afghanistan. Having left the Army, Paul now works as a police officer in Warwickshire. Paul says “The virtual event offers it’s own challenges during these strange times and is a great opportunity to support those in need.”
- Capt Anna Mulderrig, currently 258 Sig Sqn, 2IC of 30 Sig Regt. Anna is a keen a runner and also plays netball for the Corps. Anna said the “Royal Signals Charity is an excellent charity that provides support to our soldiers, veterans and families. It is a cause I am proud to support.” Having done several UltraMarathons in the past, Anna is keen to try her hand at the world-famous London Marathon and is hoping to complete the event in under 3 hours 40 minutes.
